They'd look like hell when you were done with all the bending...I don't imagine the aluminum frame around the type 1 popouts would withstand much bending and rebending before it fatigued to the point of failure. Another guy mentioned that he used cal look quarter window rubber with the popout window glass in his fasty, but what I'm wondering is whether or not he can still "popout" the window. He would have had to remove most of the outer lip that holds the window in place, except along the leading edge...even then I don't see the cal look rubber having the structural rigidity to stay in place when the window wasn't in there to spread it apart. I have a set of popout window seals that I'm waiting to install (not perfect by any means but they'll do) and they're considerably more rigid than a standard window seal. -Doug 69 auto FI fasty 73 FI fasty 98 NB douglas_brashear@mail.amsinc.com Please respond to "Innes" <innes@clickcom.com> To: Type3@vwtype3.org cc: (bcc: Douglas Brashear/AMS/AMSINC) Subject: [T3] Fasty popout soloution What Im saying is take 2 pairs of beetle popouts , cut, bend , weld , grind , fine sand, recrome and BOOM ..........fasty popouts -;腙C---------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
