OK... first off.. with a good battery your sound system will work fine even with NO generator or alternator... it just wont work that way for long. You MUST have a substantial connection for the power to the amp. The ground must be short and of say 12 gauge wire or less. Your Power connection should come directly from the battery with its own cable, dont use any of the stock harness but be sure to use and adequate fuse.
