Re: [T3] Fuel pump/warning light relay

Aedan, do you think a Pirelli type calendar is something to aim for next
year? It might lose us a lot of members, or improve recruitment! Would be
a lot of fun getting the photos for, though. ;-) You are the second
person to suggest this. We might not get it printed at a reasonable price,
but hey, who cares?

The ECU is in the rear left-hand wing (fender); it's behind the cloth flap
on the left of the boot (rear trunk). The relays under the rear seat are
the rear screen heater (defogger) and the ECU relay. The blue/yellow wire
should establish which is which.

It sounds like bad news if the pump stays on with the ignition; the
grounding of the relay power (grey wire) is done by the ECU circuitry, and
it should disconnect this (electronic) ground after a couple of seconds,
making the pump relay turn off again.
Check the ECU relay beneath the rear seat.

However, if the flashers are interfering, it may be a problem there, so
take a few fuses out and see if you can isolate the source and the fault.

Sorry I can't simply tell you there are two wires connected back to front
on the loom - but someone out there might be able to.
How about Speedy Jim on RAMVA (he may have come across soemthing similar in
his long experience).
