Re: [T3] Jim's FI book

Hello all, I think a manual like that would interest me. I have a 69
squareback with FI and automatic that I bought for my daughter and it seems
that all the manuals assume you have access to the VW testers. If there was
a way to check some of the functions using more commonly available tools,
i.e. volt/ohmeter, fuel pressure gauge, etc., then it would be easier to
diagnose a problem. Has anyone seen a manual that deals with the FI in this
manner ?
Obviously this would entail more work (no plug and play mode) but some of
us can't justify spending several hundred dollars investing in a machine we
may only use once.....and repair shops tend to turn their backs on 30 year
old FI systems. Any suggestions ? Thanx in advance!
