Its really surprising how long they can go on with whipped mains and even more surprising how many people do it wrong when rebuilding, poor or no lineboring or using a case that has been too hot. Anything more than 1 undersize on the crank is no good eather so Im not surprized with your problems. When the synthetic ruined my bearings I drove around for a year listening to the bearings knock every time I started it for a few seconds till the pressure came up. I got around another 10K out if it and the final failure was a cracked piston that finally burned through. You should have seen how much material was ground away on the crank and how much the case was pounded out. I never had the flickering light with this but thats probably due to the fact the the sensor was too sensitive and the oil pump was nearly new. My pressure was real low though.
