Re: [T3] Several questions - Holy Pan!, wet floors, new carpet

Instead of tar, how about fiberglas gel for impregnating that cloth?
I used that when I first got my square, most spots have held up for 10
years. I've had to redo several, but if you get the edges absolutely
clean and put a patch on inside and outside, it holds up pretty well.
The key is to get the edges down to bare metal, I was working with
sandpaper and hand tools at first, so some didn't stay put, weren't
clean enough. With a good power sander or DA, it shouldn't be that
rough to do. The company that makes Bondo filler also puts out the
fiberglas gel. Now that I've got a welding outfit, I'll be replacing
those old patches with real metal.
