As an alternative, you can "trick" the seatback to fold down on top of the seat bottom by lifting the seatbottom just a little to release the seatback lock and then fold the back down right on top of the bottom. You could also just take the locks out if you wanted. The back doesn't fold completely flat but it's sure better than having the seat bottom pivoted vertically. I'm 6' tall and my wife and I have slept back there before when we were too lazy to set up the tent. We slept with our heads toward the rear hatch so the slop of the seatback didn't really bother us.
