The drums on my 71 fasty were totally impossible to get off there too - it almost looked like a one piece unit. However, when I held the torch to it for a little while, it pretty much jumped off. I did have to hold it on there for a while though - at first I was too cautious, and it really didn't make any difference. I hit it with a rubber mallet every so often, but if I recall correctly it sprung free without the mallet's help when it got hot enough. Besides, what better excuse to play with fire and steel ? mhuhuhahahaha!!!! Wear gloves of course, and careful where you put that hot drum! Carry a fire extinguisher, have parental supervision, no smoking, stay away from gas fumes, use proper ventilation, milage may vary, batteries not included, Ken doll sold separately. Good luck! -Nico ps. The Fasty is now in the body shop getting the final bit of bodywork and shiny new paint :) -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney <jadney@vwtype3.org> <snip> ... I strongly recommend the torch and leave the hub in place. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
