Firstly, I'd like to say, I'm sorry for any and all bounced mail that was directed to me over the weekend. Friday, in a fit of boredom, one of my fellow techs was honking around with my smtp address, and basically disabled my e-mail address. Again, my apologies, and with luck, this is now fixed. Boy! What a difference! Ya run the valves in from as much as .01 out, and c&ne oil, points, etc. the car actually runs! Re-connect that snapped-off cold-start lead, and it idles cold! The things you can get used to! Sheesh! I almost knocked out all of my front teeth on the steering wheel with new front pads and honestly adjusted rear brakes! You've got to be careful cleaning those little FI contact points, though. They have to be clean *and* dry. That fouled me for a good solid hour yesterday. Ran the edge of a business card through there, and vroom! It was a relief. Now. The bad news. That thermostatic bellows and doors? Uh-uh. Ain't none. There's a long stud on the passenger's side of my engine, up above the lower tin (between the bottoms of the cylinders and the tin), but no thermo. Can I just buy a new one and install it with the engine in the car? Am I going to have to pull the induction tubes to get the RS tin off, to re-attach the thermostat? Talk to me, volks, how bad is this? I have to special-order a Bentley manual, and it'll take time to get here, who had the pics up on their web page? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
