RE: [T3] Brake upgrades.

Oh, yeah...duh!

The "Other" Tome was there with his purple Fasty. Beautiful car. It's too
bad that he had it roped off so people couldn't take a closer look. There
was a ordinary Square and a couple of Fasties -- no Notchbacks, though.
There was two very nice Fasties, one havingV7澳* red interior. Talked
to the father of the owner of another white automatic Fasty. I had met him
last year at a show at a drag strip in Washington (not SIR). He made a
custom gauge holder under the dash which always gets questions by those who
know T3s. The previous owner had the stock oil cooler removed and a
tube-and-fin hooked up instead...get this...in the rear air plenum. Yeah,
not a smart idea for sure. But there doesn't see to be any problems with
overheating. The motor is fuel injected (stock) AND was rebuilt using
hydraulic lifters and, I'm told, runs well!

The swap meet area was very good. There was a very good condition T3 parts
list for $150. I bought a manual for '50 and '60 era Solex (Selection and
Tuning of the Carburetor) and a Henry Elfrink manual on "Volkswagen Fuel
Injection Technical Manual" for the T3 and T4 D-jet systems. I'd love to
scan and post some of the material for y'all but the damn scanner in the lab
isn't working so things will be delayed.

The parking lot was PACKED with lots of nice VWs, air- and water-cooled. I
definitely will be going next year! Hopefully with my car.
