it won't make a difference in terms of stopping power (actually braking 
distance will be increased slightly because of the lesser contact area), but 
may make a difference if you have problems with brake fade, i.e., you're 
constantly giving your car death, or driving down mountain roads a lot.

saw one of these (w/ handbrake) advertised in may's hot vws. was probably for 
type 1s, but should be adaptable however, the previous consensus on the list 
has been that you will need to add a servo to the system.
