OK, today (Saturday) my dad and i finally got my engine back into the car, it is a '72 Squareback Fuel Inj, and after getting it all hooked up, correctly i hope, we tried to start it, once we got the fuel pressure built up she started going great. Here's the problem. When we tried to time it, when we got the TDC mark on the pulley to line up with about 5 degrees to the left of the line in the crankcase (this is where Chilton shows to time it) it sounds allright at first, then the RPM's begin to skyrocket i then shut it off before it goes any further. Even when i pump the gas a little when it's running, it'll do allright, then the RPM's will go to hell. Does this mean i \have a hose either off or in the wrong place, or could it be something else? I really need some help because my dad doesn't know much about VW's and i couldn't even drive it to the local mechanic till i fix this RPM problem Thank you JAcob SChroeder '72 Squareback FI, Manual Trans. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
