Over here they sell hobby CO analysers for about £60 ($100).  They can be
very useful in checking the mixture adjustment, though it isn't as simple
with twin carbs because the changes are less definite.  You stand some
chance of readjusting a messed-up pressure sensor too, and it helps get the
newer cars through the emission test, at least the CO level part.  It's
probably saved me the value in te-test fees and better fuel consumption
over the 4 or 5 years I've had it.
