The company that used to supply the CDI units to JC Whitney is:

The company's letterhead says "Since 1969," and the marketing materials
they send out appear to date from this period -- "Solid State!"
They have a "heathkit" type kit, too, for those of you who fancy such
things. The kit is $65. I paid $85 for mine, fully assembled. The
Model in either case is T581 ("T" is for "Tiger," believe it or not).
There is a third CDI model (T681) for $95, which is designated as
"magnetic," as opposed to the "Simpli-Kit" or "Assembled."
They also sell breakerless electronic ignition systems, the
"Tigertronic" BEI and H.T., for $55.
It seems like a small company. If you call, you'll talk to Eileen Iles,
who is very nice.
They'll send you a brochure, if you ask nicely.
