When my wife and I were in Salt Lake City attending the State Fair a couple of weeks ago, we met a lady from Hanover, Germany, who was touring the United States on a BMW motorcycle for three months. We invited her to come stay with us if she came thru Cedar City. This weekend, after touring 7 national parks and monuments, she spent the weekend with us. Very delightful. As she was preparing to leave, she asked if she could take some pictures. Of course, we said. And then the strange thing....she took pics of my Squareback! I asked her why...and she said that she doesn't see very many Squarebacks in Hanover, that they have become very scarce, and she wanted a picture of one to show her friends back home. I asked if she was kidding me, and she said she was telling the truth...she has seen more Squarebacks here in the U.S. in the past two months than she sees at home in a year! Can this be true? She swears it is. Or, of course, it may be that, ahem, my T3 is just such an outstanding example of the art! Who is to say? (She also wandered around my 7 acres and took pictures of my VW graveyard and my rusty little Fiat, but maybe that was to show how folks in underdeveloped 3rd world countries live) Phil dillard@suu.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
