Hi Chris, I went back and read your post that started this thread and I'm seeing that you at least have an idea of the going rate (you say $5500 in hand and you couldn't find one). Anyway -- have you considered a Single Cab? They are a heck of a lot cheaper and aren't prized as the collectables that Double Cab (Crew Cab) trucks are. A solid Single Cab work truck (some bed wear and a few dents) should be easily had in your area for $2000 to $2500 range. Less if you aren't concerned about rust repairs (welded replacement panels). P.S. All this assumes you want a split window, 1967 or earlier Type2. The 1968 - 1971 bus has the type1 engine and may be cheaper. However, single or double cabs are hard to find in these years too. I'd suggest a regular Standard / Kombi body... 1971 has front disc brakes. All my car needs is pop-out seals and the license light seal. When I sold my other I looked around with 5500 in hand and could not find a Crew. Don't want to sell my Notch, only trade for a type 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/
