Hi Guys, Me again. Weekend's over again. My notch is one step closer to completion. For those who have been keeping up to date with the progress on Amanda ('72 Notch'), I've finally got her nearly where I want to. Put in a new quarter glass on the drivers side also fixed the inner window scraper and replaced the kick panels around the pedals. Door switches are almost there and the centre console is about one step away from being bolted in. Also got the front shock absorbers replaced. When they get stuck, they get stuck. Perserverance and a big hammer won in the end. And some WD-40 of course. Also managed to dig my other wagon out of the mud. (Long story!) Problems: 1. Only one fine day to work over the weekend. (the weather is terrible here and has been for the past 3 months. Not that any of you can change that. VW didn't make a weather machine did they......) 2. I'd put in a new master brake cylinder last weekend. Filled her up bled all the wheels nice brakes again. Now the reason for removing the brake cylinder is because there was a leak of what feels like brake fluid from the front beam. How it got there I don't know. So when I pulled the master brake cylinder, I thought it needed a refurbish before I went any further. As a result I cleaned it up and the area behind the pedals etc, etc. Got it all nice and clean and dried out. With the master brake cylinder out over a two week period, the dripping (which is very slow) stopped. When the new one when in, I thought I'd fixed the problem. Uhuh! No. It's started again. The only problem I can think of is that the line into the body from the master brake cylinder through to the back system is somehow leaking. Does this make sense? Someone last week, I gather had a similar problem. I scooped all the stuff out of the way but so far haven't found any sign of a leak. Dad indicated the MBC had a leak at the screw on the bottom. I looked at it and think his eyes need replacing. No leak. No other leaks I can find. The lines to both front wheels are Ok and dry. At the moment I also can see any reduction in the level within the reservoir. Anyone out there got any suggestions? Is it easy (I know the answer to this will be "No" but....) to pull, replace the rear brake line? 3. Of those out there with Towbars (trailer hitches), where have you placed the wiring for it. Don't want it to sit under the car and out to the bumper bar if possible. Don't want drill a hole in the car either. And where have you fed the wire from? Any help would be appreciated? P.S. Aaron are you still out there? How's the SA Scene?
