[T3] Fresh air fan box

Well, Bentley has a pretty good description of how to pull the thing,
the fun starts after you get it out. Mine had about 1/2" of pine
needles in there as well as the usual black sludge. I've not had to
pull the motor yet, but I think it would be easier to get another box
and stick that in than trying to find a replacement motor. Probably
one of those welded-together wonders anyway that you can't get apart
to work on. The box itself has clips on the edge that you can pull
off to split it and get at the innards. Basically figure on spending
most of a morning getting it out, you have to get a lot of stuff out
>from under the dash. You might consider pulling the wiper assembly at
the same time, renewing the shaft seals and lubing it up, too, while
you've got it all torn out. Just make sure you get the battery
disconnected, there's lots of live connections in there.

<,My first question is how do you get to the fresh air fan under the
dash? It
<spins but it makes a terrible squealing noise. When I first got the
car it
<worked until I turned it up to high speed then it started to squeal
and now it
<does it all the time. I don't use it because I don't want to burn it
up. I'm
<hoping that all I need to do is clean it up and grease the bearings.
<snip

<Thanks for listening to my babbling.
<David
