Re: [T3] Carb vs. FI: again

In response, how many carbies are getting 27.5 or higher? Probably not
with the stock duals or single setup unless they've been rebuilt and
rebushed, IMO. Maybe with new carbs, but for the price of a new set of
Webers, Dells, or Kads I could but one or two spare FI systems, used, from
the wannabe carbies pooling their cash for the third-hand set of 40's they
saw at last weekend's swap meet. I'm not a big fan of the FI...I was just
beginning to understand carbs when I sold my 74 super...but so far the FI
has been good to me, with only one problem rearing its ugly head (leaky
injector, if anyone remembers). I like the idea of ordering a part,
plugging it in, and not having to adjust the engine...it just runs...and
runs WELL! When was the last time you saw an FI VW spewing smoke from the
tailpipe...or emitting vapors that are so rich they could be reignited in
mid air...I know I smell a lot more carbed engines that are improperly
tuned...granted, at least the carbed engines are on the road while the FI
owner waits for the $200.oo part to arrive in the mail ;-)

To each his/her own...why does this discussion keep appearing? Its like
going to the type I list and cutting down superbeetles...the list etiquette
should help people realize that these discussions are purely FLAME
BAIT...hmmm, I think Brian may be receiving kick backs from Dellorto for
each new convert he sends their way ;-P Why don't we start insulting those
with AUTOMATICS as well!?!

heh heh :-)

Okay,
How many fuelies are getting 27.5 or higher? How many can tune without
an analizer? How many can disassemble and re-assemble the fuel system
w/o a manual?

If you can, other than Jim, you probably own carbs!
