Symptom: periodically cuts out, sometimes 10 or 15 seconds sometimes just a quick jerk, if you have a tach the tach stays steady but the engine is completely dead (still in gear coasting down)> Solution: acts just like a bad ground on the FI harness or dirty trigger points and these should be checked first BUT if they dont cure it I just found a bad cyl head temp sensor on mine causing this problem. ON the late cars (70-3) ground the wire going to the sensor and see if the problem goes away, it will be hard to start as this mimics a warm engine condition but should run fine at temperature. Jim tells me that on the early systems this will kill the engine so in that case swapping out the sensor or replacing it with a 60 ohm resistor (for testing only) is the alternative. Please note not to cut the harness, there is a quick disconnect connector found next to the end of the generator that will disconnect the sensor. Also note that on the 68-9 cars the injector grounds are on the cylinder heads near the intake manifold and they can get cruddy real quick in this location. Keith PS remember.. if they dont want to touch your injection, you dont want them touching your car!! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
