I heard and saw something on the weekend that raised my eyebrows on trailer
hitches (or towbars!). I've seen two types of the towbars which mount on to
the bumper mounts. One is just the normal two holes each side version. Then
there was another one which had an extra two holes and an extended arms which
according to my source you bolt onto the body further up. (Which incidently
was only about another two inches in length.)

I thought this was a good idea but was told I'd need to drill holes for the
extra mounts and buy a bracket for it. I didn't like the idea of drilling but
the extra support didn't sound like a bad idea.

Anyone heard of this?

P.S. Jim you were right on the heater cables. Difference was only slight once
I'd straightened both cables out. (But you knew that!)
