With constant TOTAL flow, the higher the pressure, the more that will be bypassed AROUND the cooler (because the bypass valve responds to pressure, not temp.) This could be attacked by adding a stiffer bypass spring, but you can see that the problem is not really so simple and since the oil galley pressure is not really that important, why bother. I just wastes power (power consumed in the oil pump = pressure x volume/sec.)
