Usually when they don't start at once, they don't start at all. Could be something thermal, could be a broken wire. The FI folks on list are probably going to need some more info. When it doesn't start, can you hear the pump going when you turn the ignition on? It'll whine for about 2-3 seconds before it quits if you don't engage the starter. If the pump isn't running when you turn the key, do you hear a click? You could also have something screwy going on with your ignition, I had a coil, once, that refused to work once it got hot, so don't be too quick to point the finger at the FI stuff, yet. For this kind of troubleshooting, you NEED the Bentley factory manual, it has all the wiring diagrams in it.
