there's always a good bit of dirty fluid in here - seems a lot more like ATF
than oil.  as a temporary measure, i've put an inline fuel filter in this line
to at least prevent too much fluid getting into the air distributor.

i think i'll try and get one from a junkyard; assuming it's not broken too, it
should pretty much be a straight swap, correct?  have been reading bentley
this week and it seems like i could do the adjustment if i had to get a new
one.

i sometimes have a bit of slipping as i start off when the car is cold.  maybe
the atf has never been changed in 161k miles?  something to do when i replace
the VM.
