I think it is due to unrecognized leaks that allow the fuel ring to empty of gas when the car sits. The easiest thing you can do for this is to just turn the key on and off several times to let the 1 second fuel pump priming cycle fill the loop. This usually works, takes only a few seconds, and saves the batttery and starter. Your 69 does not have the extra contacts in the throttle valve switch, so pumping the gas pedal has no effect. > The previous owner had all fuel hoses and the fuel pump replaced. The fuel filter will help only if the old one is clogged. > 69 Fastback FI Auto w/moonroof I have the same car, light blue. Seems like it must have been a popular one as there are several on the list. Jim - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA *******************************
