That's the *Hill* I'm referring to. I guess I'm spoiled. My 68 Bug was (I think, it's been a couple of years) 1741cc with a nice cam and a pair of 40mm del Orto's, and it ate that hill up like any 6 I've ever ridden in. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I did go ripping by an 80 or so Toyo Land Cruiser (one of those big, bug-eyed monsters) and a couple of Jeeps. Boy! Are people shocked to see a VW go by! -----Original Message----- From: TOASTEDT3@aol.com [SMTP:TOASTEDT3@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, 14 October 1998 12:12 To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] The Hill I would think that taking the hills on I17 before Sunset point (heading from Phx to Prescott) at 45 mph in an air cooled VW is pretty good. God knows most take it slower. especially on the caravan to Jerome. I've notcied my 1800cc water pumper struggling a bit on those hills too. In my opinion, I wouldnt worry about it too much, just dont push it too hard. Matt ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
