IMHO, unless you are intimately familiar with both types of engines, it really doesn't make sense to attempt this. I would not assume, as you imply, that the ECU from your t3 would work with the t4 enigne (but it certainly might work). Further, there were three different type of induction systems used on t4 enignes. They first came carburated ( just like t3's), then they used 2 types of fuel injection systems: early t4 systems are Bosch D-Jetronic, and later engines used the Bosch L-Jetronic. Which do you have? Did the engine come from an Automatic? You may have to get a flywheel or do some other magic to fit it to the tranny. I am not sure but it IS something to consider. But, it al boils down to how much money you want to spend?
