I came across somebody with a Type 4 engine. He's willing to sell it for pretty cheap. It came out of either a 411 or 412. The engine is partly disassembled, but everything is there, including the intact FI (minus ECU), alternator, tins, mounting hardware, etc. The price is cheap enough that I am considering buying it to keep around as a spare...clean it and rebuild it gradually to have ready for when my stock T3 engine (with Solex carbs) dies (it's running fine right now, though). Has anybody put a T4 engine into his/her T3? What are the installation and operational details to be aware of for such a switch? Or maybe I am better off with real T3 engines in my car? Although a PO converted my T3 to carbs, most of the wiring harness, the ECU, and relays are still on the car..
