WooHoo! Nice work! The idling weirdness, for lack of a better term, is probably caused by your throttle position switch (an ACTUAL part, that lives on the end of the throttle shaft). It's a little black plastic box, with two screws holding it in place. Muir has a fairly understandable version of the adjustment procedure. It must have taken me a dozen times to get it right the first time, but once it's set you'll never forget the adjustment. It will also make a world of difference in your idle. Not large adjustments, just real fine ones like you might do for points... I'm certain you'll get a good procedure from this thread.
