Re: Send-it 'back, NOS filter

I expect it'll be pretty obvious when you get the engine down. Sounds
like a busted clutch plate.

BryanE=> Has anyone tried the spin-on NOS setup that Bill&Steves Sells?
=> Does it reduce flow because of the lines?

A couple of years ago I picked up an NOS VW T3 oil-filter kit,
purportedly designed for the North Africa market. It taps off the oil
cooler, runs through a standard Fram filter (painted black for VW)
mounted in the left rear upper corner of the engine compartment, and
returns through a hollow stud in the front corner of the crankcase vent
stand. If this is roughly equivalent to what B&S have, it's a
partial-flow rather than full-flow system, and so won't substantially
affect oil pressure. It'll also be less effective than a full-flow
system, of course, but substantially more effective than the stock
setup.
