Hooray hooray - its a happy, happy day! Yesterday I finally got rid of my old Toyota (a real rustbucket), so now I have managed to pull off a deal on a -73 Squareback which I have gleaned on for a while. It哀 a lovely object with only 12000 km so far. Very little rust as far as I can see, but who knows whats lurking under the fenders...? It哀 gonna be a "rolling restauration". I need a second car for daily driving, and this one should be useful for that, but there are a thing or two to fix meanwhile. Maybe I rip the fenders off next summer and get her repainted? We勁l see... I哉e been thinking of what I can do to prolong life and improve reliability on this baby. I have followed the previous threads about attaching a external oil filter, but it seems quite cumbersome on a T3 and I would rather not do any grinding in the fan housing, either. I have considered the alternative with a filter housing which replaces the original oil screen and cover. I think Gene Berg has such an item? Have anyone tried this? Whats your opinion? In theory it seems as a fair solution, at least on a std 1600. But again, maybe it哀 better to go the external filter way? Any advice will be highly appreciated! Exctatic T3 owner! (sorry for my babbeling and poor grammar, but Im so happy...)
