[T3] bumper

Hi all,
well good news is Ive won a reprive from selling my Fastback. I thought
about it and sold the one I had in storage at moms house in los angeles.
Since the one i drive here ( in maryland) runs so well, I decided not to
part with it ( after all Ive had it 11 years, it likse a part of the
family sorta) so I sold the 69 and as I went out to celebrate one of the
oh-so few good decisions Ive ever made....
I promptly got rear-ended at a stop light. Whammao. So here;s the damage:
one absloutley wasted rear bumper and thats all the visible damage.
The body was pushed a little, only visible by opening the reartrunk and
seeing the engine lid doest line up, the left side is pushed in about onw
or two centimeters but the trunk lid closes okay.
Body shop said straightening the pan/frame/inibody (whatever) is the easy
part and the cheapest part since it barely moved outta alignment. Coulda
been way worse but thank goodness I had that frame mounted trailerhitch!
The front of the guys Suzuki was wasted.
Ok the guy is gonna pay (or his insurance will) so i need to located a
good straight rear bumper to fit my 71 Fastback.
No other body panels/parts were hit so I (actually he) got lucky.
i took it to one body shop but I dont trust them, they admitted to never
having worked on a T-3, so Im lookin for a VW body repari place that can
do the work. Wash DC metro area.
Thanks to all and drive safe and lug around a big-godzilla trailer hotch
like mine.

p.s. thanks to those who expressed interest in buying this car, but I
coulndt bear to see it go. And my apologies.
