RWD cars ( *this* is gonna start controversy) handle/perform better in the snow. It was my own personal prejudice, until I read it in Consumer Reports. It's there, in one of their annual reviews. They're very sheepish about admitting it after touting FWD in wet/snowy conditions for so many years, but they said that after all is said and done, RWD provides more control. -----Original Message----- From: TOASTEDT3@aol.com [SMTP:TOASTEDT3@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, November 12, 1998 5:12 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Gone over to the 'WET' side wouldnt the weight displacement ratio for the jetta and the squareback be about the same? The Square's rear engine/rear wheel drive and the Jetta's front engine/front wheel drive. of course there's never any ice to drive on in southern california so I wouldnt really know, but seems logical Matt WET side member ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
