Whoa, that's weird. You're saying there's supposed to be a floor pan below the battery? The one in my car just kind of floats there. Seriously though, it's been tossed around about Karmann Ghia (ugh!) pans fitting into type IIIs with some trimming. I'm wondering, if I got a ghia battery area quarter, would it fit? I'm really jonesing for a good reason to buy a MIG welder, and that could kick me over the edge. Thoughts?
