Ross, I had an old cracked windsheild(screen) seal that leaked water onto the floor, and somehow into the foot heater outlet. I think it was running down behind the carpet somehow... Anyway, yes you can seal your old rubber with silicone. I did it to the rear window (NLA seal). Park your car in the sun to soften, and barely trim the silicone tube's tip into a flat shape (like a standard screwdriver). Now you can squirt the stuff deep in there, slowly work your way around. You should be able to do between glass/seal and seal/paint with out any visable silicone (well, it is *possible* to do it perfectly). Peter Parker '66 Square: Phillip Portland, OR
