Starter current NEVER goes through 15 feet of wire, only the solenoid current does. The solenoid is a relay in itself, it just draws too much current in the 6V cars for the ignition switch to last. The starter current (100's of amps) only passes through the big battery cable and the internal contacts in the solenoid, nowhere else Keith
