I recently battled the surging idle in my 73 SB. The problem was a mis-adjusted auxillary air regulator in combination with the throttle position sensor being just a hair off adjustment. I would check to see that the aux air regulator is fully closed when the engine is up to temp. The temperature that is closes can be roughly adjusted by removing the unit. There is a small screw that secures the bi-metalic coil to the base. Also, some models (not mine) have a resistive heater that helps close the unit. If you have one of these, check it out. I have yet to find a setting for this unit that allows me to drive the car in all temperatures that we encounter in Fairbanks, AK (-40 to 100 F) I usually adjust mine for winter, then again for summer, much like the electric choke units on older VW carbs. This may sound crazy, but if anyone knows a better way of having a FI engine run smooth at start-up at -35 F, I woul like to know. Idle Surge Sounds like a vacuum leak unless its a 71 then its a bad press sens, there hard to get. Oil lights coming on is a sign of worn bearings, a near end of life engine. Keith
