I did the brakes on my notch this weekend and the gas tank. Tank was done by a friend. I replaced all the fuel lines. The metal line through the tunnel is plugged up so I spent several hours fishing new fuel line from front to rear. Carbs are fresh rebuilt. I have gas in the filter I put after the fuel pump. Car will only run if I pour gas from a cup into the carbs then start it. Car will only run 15 or 20 seconds then dies. I cannot figure this out still. It ran this way when the gas tank was plugged up. Gave up trying to get her to run. Looks good in the garage though. I put on new master cylinder replaced all hoses and lines. Old stuff was so bad I had to cut it all off and start over. Couldn't break and connections loose. Bleeders broken off before I got the fine 1965 Type 3. I replaced the front wheel bearings and seals while it was all apart. After everything was back together I bled the master and then started on the wheels. Major leak on front left. I took it all apart again and realized I didn't get the connector pipe between the two wheel cylinders tight enough. Fixed that. Brake parts cleaner got all the fluid off of everything. Re-packed the wheel bearings again. All back together I started bleeding. I got pretty good pedal and was happy... Then when pushing the pedal I get the Ppffsssst sound. The fluid is now coming from the back side of the Brand new German Master Cylinder. My old one was a 19mm This new one is 20mm Everything else looked the same. Now I need to rebuild my new master. Where do I get a kit for this? Why won't my car run? What do I check next. Spent 22 hours over the last two days under my Notch. I hope your weekend went better than mine...
