You WONT get stock gas mileage with a beefed up injection system without
putting a hole in a piston.. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STUFF!!
-- He (I assume) means with a turbo, not fuel injection. Adding FI would
be of greater benefit than the turbo in the long run. This is because FI
does such a better job at metering the fuel and "monitoring" the engine's
constantly changing demands.
Also note that the after-market turbo systems will bring a quick end to a
good stock motor. If you double the HP you have ALOT of beefing up to do
-- Very true! Blowby would be of concern as well as stress on the
connecting
rods, crank and bearings (journals?), just to name a couple of problem
areas.
Heat buildup in the engine bay would increase and that's not cool for our
type
of engines. With the forced induction you are actually increasing the
compression ratio and I KNOW that causes an increase in operating
temperatures.
Then you have to beef up the tranny to handle the power. Better clutch
would be
a good idea as well. Going that much faster? Better beef up the brakes and
suspension. Shall I go on?
