Allen, I am an aircraft mechanic by trade, and when ever we assemble any type of hydraulic component, we use what is very similar to an assembly lube. Its name is PARKER O-Lube. This stuff is very slimey and it adheres to seals and orings to prevent leaks and extend life. If your interested I will try to find you a vendor you can buy it from on the street.
