Tom, This is a shot in the dark, so pardon MY ignorance. Not too long ago there was a discussion on the list about converting to halogen headlights. If I recall correctly, it was suggested to convert to an alternator in this process because the generator wouldn't charge the battery fast enough, thus draining the battery.
