T3: Re: Generator problem (was: no more leaks)

Sonny,
When I bought my car it had sat exposed to the elements for 5 or
6 years. It would not start after recharging the battery, I had to buy a
new battery & haven't had any problem since. Yes, a battery will start &
run a car for a while even if the generator isn't charging the battery.
Does the generator light in the fuel gauge come on when you turn the key
to the first position & then go out once the engine is running? If it
remains on while the engine is running the generator is bad. Anything as
simple as brushes to replacing or reparing the generator.
