Temp sendors and case work

Does anybody know or sware by a place to put a temp sender on a T3?

I bought a "shorty" temp sender from Gene berg (jeez.. i'm starting to
sound like a GB catalog), but then realized there was no good place to put
it on my t3 (not universal case).

There was a posting on a T2 web site about putting it in place of the plug
for the oil pick up galley (the slotted plug, or smooth, to the lower
right of the oil pump).
Two problems:
	1. the engine mount would require an inch diamerter hole to be
drillied through it, (I'm allready going to be "clearancing" for the GB
relief valve oil pump cover, and i probably shouldn't press my luck.)
	2. The sender is about an inch long, so even with the
"clearencing" of the mount, i'd probably have to cut into the fan housing,
(read: big no no)
	3. the sender itself might restict oil flow

GB suggested that i simply use a T adaptor, and mount both the temp sendor
and oil pressure switch on the oil cooler.
problems:
	1. temp of oil at cooler, operative word "cooler". Wouldn't i get
a radically low temp at the "cooler"?
	2. air. If a air bouble gets in the "T" adaptor, wouldn't that
cause both the temp and oil switches to be unoperatable?

Putting the sender on the sump (drain) plate
Problems:
	1. temperature at the sump is lower right? But if it's at the
place where oil is being sucked back to the pump, isn't that the
"working temp" of the oil in the motor.
	2. road damage. The sender looks real delicate, like as if a
stray pebble could take it out. Maybe i could build a shield or housing
for it on the sump plate.

I just noticed where T1s mount their pressure switches. On the left rear
quarter of thier case is a taped hole for them to mount it. We T3s Have
the same outcropping on our cases.
Questions:
	1. Can i tap that mound of magneziem and put a temp switch there?
	2. Is there a oil passage behind that mount, same as in T1s?
	3. if there is an oil passage there, and I can tap it, is it a
good place to mount a temp sender? Or would i do better to mount the
pressure switch there and put the temp sender on the cooler?

these are the questions that try a T3 owner's sole

please respond with info, insight, advice, positive experiences with any
of thre above, but exspecially any negative experiences or potential
pitfalls that I should look out for.

thanx
