Re: [T3] broken fan?


I've had that happen, not too long after I had the engine out.  What
it was was a fan mounting bolt from inside the housing that managed to
work itself free and bounce around inside.  Had to drop the engine,
couldn't get the fan housing off otherwise.  Ever since, I've used
Permatex on those threads just to lock them in place.  The head of the
bolt was round after I got it out, that's with about 10 miles to get
back home.  Fan wasn't noticeably marked up.  Even if you get the bolt
out some other way, you';re still going to have to put another back
in, so get prepared to pull the engine.
