Try removing the shift rod access plate.  It's a round circle of metal,
dead center under the front bumper.  You should be able to reach this
from under the car.  Then you can put your hand up in there and open the
latch on the front hood.  I would recommend making sure that the latch
and cable are in good condition, and remount the lever in the glovebox
at it's original position, if possible.  Good luck,
