OK, Thanks to all who put in thier 2 cents worth on my leaky fule inlet on my carb. Well, as I removed the top of the carb I noticed how much corrosion there was in the float bowl. Then I took off the accelerator pump and there was a nice semi-circle of corrosion in there. Well, I realized, having bought the motor used, that it must have sat a long time exposed to the elements. I now must rebuild it since I'm sure that if put it back together now without a good cleaning that stuff that got loose would find its way into a jet or other orifice. I have never actually performed one of these by myself. I understand that I will need compressed air to blow out the passages and I need a good carb cleaning solvent. Can anyone offer any pitfalls or other perils I should look out for? I will be attempting this on Saturday. Wish me luck. How did I ever get into this?!!
