        Your description sounds like you might be refering to "Seesand"
L5??. 
This was a very common color in the mid sixties, bugs too.  I've seen
color chips on two websites:

and a retail shop (Wolsburg West?).  I finally saw this color up close
when I took off Phillip's dash pad.  The original paint outside is so
dull and faded, the white primer is showing in a half-dozen swatches.
