I don't think this is true, although it certainly resembles some similar mis-info that I used to read posted on the bicycle newsgroups. There is nothing in Lubriplate lithium grease or any other grease that will react with magnesium, or almost anything else you are likely to want to lubricate. The lithium is in the form of a "soap" (the chemical term) and is quite inert. In other words, it has already reacted with something else and is now quite tightly bound up and well behaved.
