That's probably it, as the FI triggers contact that return spring mount
fairly soundly, and with the condenser installed correctly, it's just not
possible to time the car correctly.  Assuming that my distro gear is
correct, the FI triggers are coming off the bottom of the distro at about 2
oclock.
