Toby, Personaly I have had 18 VWs and only 2 haven't been titled and insured...It's the need to constantly tinker, I think! If I had the family histry in my rides that you have with your Square, if might be different. I enjoyed everyone I owned, except the bus and parts car. Just have a need to change. They have been: 67 Beetle--stock 1300, beat up--driven daily in college 69 Ghia--nice, but not for me--traded for 65 Beetle--driven for a month, then I found the world of the TYPE 3--sold to buy 72 Fastback--very rough, traded for the 1st Dark Side! 68 Baja Square w/1641cc and Pro Fogger, full roll cage--hammered into the ground--college car 62 Notchback...rustdeath was solid compared to this car, drove from Seattle to Boise several times, drove daily--sold to go back to college Meyers Manx....rolled and sold, driven daily-even in winter 77 Baja Rabbit! paid 25 bucks for it, drove daily--traded for Austin-Healey 67 Square---bone stock--weekend car--traded for GoldWing 63 Bus...traded 2 days after titled for fastback 65 Fasty...very dark w/stock engine--fun and an attention getter, wasn't for sale when sold--driven daily, sold for Notch project 64 Notch--68 Auto pan never finished its medimorphisis to the dark side--drove a little, not much, traded with others for current car 71 Square w/1641 dual webers, EMPIs, perfect interior--great driver/ 15,000 a year, but traded for the crew 62 Crew cab--IRS, disks, 12v, lowerd, velour interior--driven daily about 12,000--sold to buy another T3 67 Square, stock unrestored with new 1600, dual dells--driven, but traded for current ride 67 Square for parts--traded for current ride 72 Fastback--Drove for a week and sold, guy had to have it 64 Notch custom--taken on trades of above plus my cash--driven as often as possible Everyone loves there cars different ways...I have been accused of being purely a capitalist, but I enjoy each car while I own it!
